Data from the 2024-25 financial year showed that only 11.7% of job seekers find long-term employment through job service providers.
The problems are well-known, and have been acknowledged by the federal government, with Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations Amanda Rishworth floating reforms in May.
But a new report this week from the Centre for International Corporate Tax Accountability and Research alleges that the cracks are deeper – and far more lucrative for operators – than the government may want to admit.
