A project looking to help young musicians get their recording careers off the ground.

Are you a young emerging singer/songwriter, solo artist, duo, or band, living in the Shoalhaven? Triple U FM is giving five young songwriters/performers (aged 12-24) the opportunity to write and record a song under the mentorship of nationally recognised recording artist Paul Greene, and have it distributed through the Sounds Delicious recording label and played on Triple U FM.

The program, called Young Sounds of the Shoalhaven, is funded by a grant from the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, with the aim of boosting the careers of young emerging musicians in the Shoalhaven. There is no entry fee. To be considered, you must be new to the recording industry, that is, not have recorded or released songs through a record company in the past. To be in the running, send us some audio or video (or a link to it) of you performing some material you have previously written and performed, so we can judge your suitability, (a smartphone recording is fine) to youngsounds@tripleu.org.au and, in the email, also tell us a bit about yourself, your name, age, where in the Shoalhaven you live, and where you would like to go with your musical career. Entries close July 31.
